a new twist on recycling glass
I was at the Farmer’s Market in Boise, Idaho this past summer, and there was a booth that showed a new way to recycle old glassware- turning old wine and pop bottles into glasses and vases! Sure, you can take old bottles to the recycling center, and that is great, but this is a super neat recycling alternative. The glasses are aesthetically pleasing, sturdy, and unique. And not to mention sustainable!
I have started to see more and more people using these recycled glasses as their main drinking glasses. There is one cafe in Boise that uses the old wine bottles as their ice tea glasses, and in fact had the glasses engraved with the words ”ice tea”. How cool is that? I also saw one person who used these glasses at their wedding reception. If you can’t make it to the Boise Farmer’s Market, you can purchase these glasses at www.recycledglasswareco.com . At $6 dollars a glass, this is a great deal and a great way to find a cool secondary use for old glass bottles!
