YOGA

Jessica has a deep passion to teach not only a vinyasa-flow style of yoga, but also to share restorative yoga, yoga nidra, and Bhakti practices like chanting + kirtan.

Her style of teaching is based on the idea that asana is a tool designed to help us access a deeper understanding of truth and of Self. You won’t find Jessica demonstrating too many crazy “cocktail party poses”, but you will find a teacher who holds compassionate space for students to be real and raw, and who encourages radical self-inquiry. Through that practice, we develop a deep self-acceptance that grows into understanding, allowing the lessons we learn on our mat to be translated into our lives off the mat. Jessica has spent years of her life devoting herself to the study of yoga and ayurveda, and her teachings reflect an authentic dedication to the process of transmitting wisdom to her students. Jessica believes that yoga is not a “one size fits all” practice, rather, the practice is intrinsically individual and unique to each person.

When she teaches asana, Jessica’s vinyasa flow yoga class is a breath-centric, fun and inspiring practice that is challenging yet liberating, and gracefully integrates yoga philosophy. Creative and unique sequencing, use of alignment principles, and fluid transitions are coupled with a positive, upbeat and joyful energy that allows students to find the space and freedom for personal expression through movement. It is an invitation to merge breath and energy into a powerfully transformative opportunity.

Jessica is an E-RYT 500, Ayurveda Yoga Therapist, and the Director/Owner of the Atman Yoga School. Beyond yoga training, her love of movement, breath, and the study of the human body is also reflected in her 500 hour classical pilates training. She has studied yoga and ayurveda with many talented and knowledgeable teachers, whom she honors for their generosity, guidance, and patience. Jessica draws from knowledge of the Anusara, Iyengar, Bhakti, Power and Ashtanga traditions when she teaches classes. She has taught workshops and leads teacher trainings in the US and Europe. Jessica serves as an Ambassador for Manduka and is a legacy Ambassador for Lululemon.
